CLIFTON, Va. — The Panthers showed great teamwork in a 3-2 win over Southwestern 3. The Panthers took an early lead, 1-0, with the first goal of the match by Elias F. who was assisted by Justin R. Southwestern 3 gained the lead by scoring two consecutive goals early in the second half, but Yassine H. scored on an assist by Matthias K. to even the score at 2-2. The Panthers took the lead for good after an unassisted goal by Johnson K.

The Panthers as a team showed an aggressive offense with 13 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Sebastian H. had three saves during the match for the Panthers.

The Panthers (2-3-1) will return to match play after the Memorial Day break on June 5 at 12:30 pm for a home matchup against Burke 1 (0-6-0).

Marvin C. lead the team in scoring with 3 goals on 5 shots during the match.</p><p>The Panthers opened the scoring in the first half as Marvin scored the first goal of the match at the 9:26 mark. He was followed at the 12:48 mark with a goal by Angel M., the first of his two goals on the day. Marvin’s second goal came at the 15:33 mark and Angel’s second goal came at the 19:48 mark. Marvin scored his third goal of the match at 29:39. Elias F. scored his third goal of the season at the 31:40 mark to close out the first-half scoring.</p><p>In the second half, Adrian Z. scored at the 37:59 mark after an assisting cross pass by Angel. Peter A. scored his second goal of the season with a goal at 45:12.
