LANDOVER, Md. — A great time with family and friends as the Washington Commanders clinched their first playoff berth since 2020 with a 30-24 overtime victory against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night. The Falcons, led by rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr., tied the game late in the fourth quarter with a touchdown pass to tight end Kyle Pitts, but missed a potential game-winning 56-yard field goal as time expired in regulation. The Commanders improved to 11-5, securing a wild-card spot in the NFC playoffs, while the Falcons fell to 8-8, jeopardizing their postseason hopes.
