ANNANDALE, Va. — The Panthers dropped their home opener as Gunston 2 took the match, 6-3, at Mason District Park.
The Panthers tied the game at 1-1 in the first half after Jeffrey R. scored a long goal from the top of the box, but Gunston 2 added two additional goals. In the second half, the Panthers added two additional goals with Jeffrey R and Johnson K. both scoring goals. During the match, the Panthers scored on three of their five shots on goal. Gunston 2 had 14 shots on goalkeeper Sebastian H. who had eight saves in the match.
The Panthers now have a 0-2-1 record in the Spring 21 Suburban Friendship League season and will return for another home match on Saturday, May 8 at 12:30 pm against Southwestern 2 at Mason District Park.
